Everything becomes possible with a new mindset
This is a season for infinite possibility attracting all the things with an abundant mindset necessary to grow.
💫 What does it mean to step into a new possibility?
💫 What does it mean to let your true self shine?
💫 What does it mean to re-energize your soul and your mindset and your spirit?
What it means is…. everything and anything becomes possible. We truly get to unlock this space of infinite possibilities and it all starts…..with a new mindset.
When I began studying for the Naplex, like you, I was intimidated by the big prep book and overwhelmed looking at the chapters that I had to read, videos I had to watch, and quizzes I had to take.
I started with a plan….
A plan to read all the chapters
A plan to write notes on all the chapters
A plan to watch/listen to the videos when I study, while driving, while cooking, etc.
A plan to make 80% or higher on all the quizzes
After reading and writing notes for the cardiovascular chapters, I began to doubt whether or not I could retain the information and would I be able to cover all the material
Because it took me 20+ hours and 5 days to read and write my notes, I said to myself, I don’t have enough time to do this so I decided to watch the lecture videos.
10+ hours later, I realized that I didn’t learn a thing and the instructor was just rambling on.. So I decided to read and reread my notes..
Doubting myself even more, I went to the quiz back and made the decision to read the chapter and take the chapter quiz to see what information would be important to know
Welp , that wasn't the greatest idea…
By doing this, I went into the testing room with limited information.
😩 I memorized the test bank
😩 Focused heavily on the big chapters
😩 Learned the math formulas, but couldn’t interpret the results
And guess what, I FAILED the Naplex.
Hurt, embarrassed, and disappointment was an understatement. I felt like a complete failure! And my peers reminded me every chance they got! Which carried me down a mental turmoil. My fear, poor mindset, and ineffective study habits, led me to another FAILED test result.
I sat in all of those negative emotions for at least a month until a friend recommended that I read Who Moved My Cheese? While reading the book, I noticed my mindset began to positively shift.
By the end of the book, I decided, “Hold on. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to change my reality. I will do whatever it takes to stand in my grade. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to discover my greatness and then stand on it.
I have greatness in me. I’m willing to do whatever it takes.” Like Haw in Who Moved My Cheese, the first thing that I needed to do was change my mindset because when you change your mindset everything has to follow.
Let me say it again, When you change your mindset, everything has to follow
It doesn’t matter how much you don’t understand biostatistics. How intimidating infectious disease is, or how many times you’ve taken the Naplex. When you change your mindset, everything has to follow
Here’s a truth bomb…
I was offered a job with an annual salary of $104,000 upcoming passing the Naplex. Eleven months later, I still haven’t passed the Naplex. Which meant, I missed out on $96,000.
😪 My family missed out on $96,000
😪 My financial stability missed out on $96,000
😪 My peace of mind missed out on $96,000
Seeing how my fear, poor mindset, and ineffective study habits caused me to miss out on $96,000. I was ready to commit to the process of giving up who I was for who I had to become. I was ready to invest in myself no matter the cost.
Each week, I wasn’t putting in the sweat equity to make my dream become a reality was costing me $2,000.
So I ask you, how much money are you missing out on?
How much money are you not receiving because of you not showing up for yourself?
How much money have you lost due to your fear and unwillingness to sacrifice who you are for who you will become?
When I viewed my situation from this perspective, LaQuita made a change. I invested the time, work ethic, and money to ensure I had a passing score.
I didn’t care if a program was $1000, $2,000 or $3,000 dollars… I was losing $2000 a week.
