Hi, I’m Dr. LaQuita Johnson!
But most people call me Dr. LaQuita J
I could say….
I’m a Naplex Success Strategist and Population Health Pharmacist.
I use my experience as a pharmacist, my PharmD & MPH education, and the skills I learned serving underserved communities to help pharmacists impact the healthcare system.

But this is what I do
Or I could say…
I am a health equity advocate, speaker, and founder of PharmD To RPh®. I believe it’s time for pharmacists to get the recognition and respect for the vital role they play as front-line healthcare practitioners and medication experts.

But, this is more titles and my passion
If I’m honest…
to get to know me is to know where I came from
I was born and raised in a small, rural town in Mississippi called Hazlehurst.
It’s so small that if one is to blink that it is likely to be missed.
I had a very humbling childhood growing up in a medically underserved area/ population with a primary care health professional shortage.
Everyday was survival.
Defeat or be defeated was the mentality.

This mentality developed perseverance and built resilience
My “defeat or be defeated” mentality stayed with me throughout my career journey.
Being the first generation college student, I had to overcome the adversity of failing 6 undergraduate classes, but still obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology.
I had to overcome the adversity of being rejected 4 times from pharmacy schools, but still graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with a 3.3 GPA.
I had to overcome the adversity of taking the Naplex 3 times, but still practiced in three sectors of pharmacy within 2.5 years of becoming a registered pharmacist.

Your true character is developed in the midst of adversity.
So now you're probably wondering,
Who is Dr. LaQuita J?
It’s simple
I am a woman of audacious faith who presses on towards the mark because everything is possible.

“Dr. Johnson served as my preceptor for my rotation. During this time, she offered me a unique experience, that combined pharmacy, policy, and public health. And it allowed me to study for the NAPLEX. When I first started the rotation, I thought the only way to influence policy was by going to law school. However, through several actives, Dr. Johnson has shown me how I can influence policy without going to law school. She has taught me how everything is related to public health and the social determinants of health. In addition to that, Dr. Johnson has also helped prepare me for the NAPLEX by breaking down material and making it less overwhelming. More importantly, Dr. Johnson has encouraged me to look within myself and dream again. She has opened my eyes to the unlimited possibilities that lie before me. Dr. Johnson’s rotation was a wonderful experience. I am grateful to have been under her tutelage.”
